Abstract
Anthropological models of how sexuality has worked in Latin America, especially in relation to masculinity and honor, have profoundly influenced studies of Latin American social history. New anthropological studies of male sexuality in Latin America, particularly Don Kulick's ethnography of cross-dressing male sex workers in urban Brazil, offer new ways of thinking about gender, family, and power; historians of Latin America should consider Kulick's and related studies carefully.
