Sara Ritchey
Short Biography
Sara Ritchey is an assistant professor of history at the University of Louisiana. She holds a PhD in history from the University of Chicago. She is currently at work on a book entitled, Sacred Arborescence: Metaphor and Materiality in the Late Medieval Religious Imagination. Her work can be found in the Journal of Medieval and Early Modern Studies, Spiritus and Church History. Her research and writing interests include the deconstruction of medieval and modern concepts of ‘nature’, the theme of mutuality in contemporary feminist theology and its intersections with late medieval concepts of divine love, and the place and use of the phenomenal world in late medieval prayer.
