Susan E. Cross
Short Biography
Susan E. Cross’s research examines the self in its cultural environment. Her work lies at the intersection of social, personality, and cultural psychology. Her research on relational self-construal has been published in Psychological Bulletin, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Personal Relationships. Her cultural research projects focus on the self and close relationships in East Asian societies and on self and honor in Turkey. Dr. Cross is a fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and the Society for Experimental Social Psychology. Before coming to Iowa State University where she currently teaches, she taught at the University of Texas-Austin. She holds a B. S. from Texas A&M University, an M.A. from Ohio State University, and the Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA.
