Jean-Léon Beauvois and Nicole Dubois
Short Biography
Jean-Léon Beauvois wrote his doctoral dissertation under the direction of Serge Moscovici. His research is located in social psychology of social evaluation practices (rationalization, internalization, evaluative knowledge). He is the author of books and papers in these areas, including Submission and Ideologies (1981), The Lay Psychology (1984) and Liberal Illusions (2005). He is today retired. He was Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Nancy 2, Grenoble 2 and Nice (France).
Nicole Dubois’ research is located in social psychology. She is the author of books and papers in the areas of social norms of judgment and of evaluative knowledge, including The Psychology of Control (1987), The Norm of Internality and Liberalism (1994) and A Sociocognitive Approach to Social Norms (2003). She is Professor of Psychology at the University of Nancy 2, France.
