Michael S. Drake

Short Biography

Michael S. Drake is Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Hull. He previously taught at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, from 1999 to 2004, and in colleges throughout East Anglia. He is the author of Problematics of Military Power: Government, Discipline and the Subject of Violence (Routledge Frank Cass, 2002) and has published articles in political sociology. His research applies social and political theory to studies in historical and political sociology, focusing specifically on power, authority and the political, the organisation of violence, the body, and identity and representation.
