Peter L. Callero

Short Biography

Peter L. Callero is Professor of sociology at Western Oregon University. He is the co-author of Giving Blood: The Development of an Altruistic Identity, Johns Hopkins University Press, and co-editor of The Self-Society Dynamic: Cognition, Emotion and Action, Cambridge University Press. His recent scholarship has focused on the relationship between self structure and political action and he is currently working on a book manuscript that examines the myth of individualism. Callero holds a BA from Seattle University, an MA from Western Washington University and a PhD in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
